SPRING VOLLEYBALL REGISTRATION CLOSED - no late registrations -

  • Fall Season: September 18 - November 4th

    REGISTRATION Closed September 1st

  • Spring Season: April - June

Registration opens March 1st through March 22nd.

  • Our schedule is determined by coach availability, gym availability, and registered youth. Due to this, our schedule is released one week prior to practices starting. We know this makes planning difficult, which is why our refund policy allows for a full refund prior to practices beginning.

  • We love our volunteer coaches! This is what makes our program possible.

Our coaches come with a wide range of backgrounds, but they all have one important thing in common - a passion for youth recreational basketball and wanting to make positive impact in the lives of our youth athletes.

Our coaches are all background checked and fingerprinted. They complete a required coach training meeting, OSHA heat stress prevention training, Sexual conduct training, and volunteer orientation.

 FAQs

  • There are many reasons this is so popular. We have fantastic volunteer coaches that come back year after year. Athletes come to have fun, improve their skills, and play volleyball. Our program focuses on having fun, building relationships, and improving skills more than winning games.

  • Teams are formed by student attendance area, enrollment numbers, and available coaches. We have youth that enrolls from all over Oregon City and surrounding areas, which means not all of our players attend OCSD public schools. Our goal is for your child to play with the children in their neighborhood and their schools to the greatest extent possible. However, teams are often blended by schools and locations. Even though you register under your child’s school of attendance this does not mean there will only be children from that school. It also does not mean practices will be at that school. Please read the next question below for additional information.

  • Practices can happen at any of our elementary and/or middle schools in Oregon City School District. The practice schedule and locations are more complex than one would think. Factors that influence the practice location and times are building availability, coach availability, players’ school of attendance, and district needs. Our Saturday volleyball games are typically played at either Gaffney Lane, Tumwata Middle School, or Gardiner Middle School.

  • Your athlete will make new friends and have fun while growing their volleyball skills. Teams are formed by school attendance area and grade level. It is our goal for students to play with youth from their school to the greatest extent possible, however, this is not always possible. Our athletes are grouped by grade 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th/8th. Practice days, times, and locations are scheduled based on the coach's availability. Unfortunately, this means you will not know your child's practice schedule or location until teams are formed approximately a week before practice starts. Practices are twice a week and games are always on Saturday. Families, be on the lookout for an email from your coach 3 days to one week before practice begins. These emails often end up in the spam/junk folder. If you do not receive information contact Ms. Kristin Bean.

Elementary games are held at Gaffney.

7th/8th graders will have tryouts when the sport is in season. Don't worry! All athletes make the team. Tryouts give our coaches an opportunity to build balanced teams. Our 7th & 8th-grade team games are held at either Tumwata or Gardiner Middle school.

  • Complete refunds or credits are given if enrollment is too low to support the formation of another team. Partial refunds are available before the season begins. No refunds are given once the season starts. Some hardship exceptions apply and are at the discretion of the Community Education Department. Most refunds are issued as a credit to the credit card on file or mailed. The refund process may take up to two weeks. Contact our business office for a refund. 503-785-8035 ext 0 or email Emily.Fisher@orecity.k12.or.us

  • Practices: Spectators may not have any food or drink in the building except for clear water. Spectators are expected to remain in the gym and not walk around the school building.

Games: We love spectators! Families are welcome to come to watch our youth play basketball. Our game day facilities all have bleachers. No food or drinks are allowed in our gyms. Spectators are expected to model good sportsmanship and positive behavior toward others. Spectators must remain in the assigned gym and not wander the building.
