Candice Henkin, Administrator of OCSD Community Education
Ms. Henkin was a special education teacher, intervention specialist, and elementary principal prior to this current position. She has 2 boys and has had the opportunity to be a foster parent. She approaches caregiver education through the adult learning model which values the lived experience each person brings.
Session Objectives:
Caregivers will understand how attendance in elementary school impacts attendance in high school and beyond.
Caregivers will identify barriers to attendance and determine which they have control over impacting.
Caregivers will decide from a variety of strategies which approach they will take to support school attendance for their child.
